狮城的眼镜店到处是，生活在狮城，你会回马来西亚买眼镜吗？新山？槟城？马六甲？

身为古城人，乌贼当然是回马六甲。小地方，眼镜会不会土里土气呢？留学上海的外甥女把乌贼载去乌贼中学时期最潮的商场：Mahkota Parade，却抛来一句，现在这里没什么人来了。

走进去，果然清冷。外甥女推荐的眼镜店位于二楼，是她们一家购买眼镜的地方。外甥女漂亮爱打扮，在大城市里生活过，土里土气的眼镜她多半看不上。到了她指定的Young Look Vision，一看眼镜多款，有不同价位、不同材质的，款式也新颖。当时店里有其他顾客，老板和员工都忙着招待顾客，我们进去绕了一圈，看一看眼镜，看一看价格，便走了出来，打算到附近看看其他店家作比较。

邻近眼镜店的眼镜，让不怎么在乎打扮的伴侣眼睛一瞪，说我不要这里的啦！感觉蛮土的，没有几个款式可以选。 我呵呵偷笑，一起走回外甥女介绍那间。我悄声问，有比新加坡便宜？伴侣道，不确定，但是不会比较贵。既然这样，就选一款喜欢的吧。

 

 

 

我看上两款眼镜，一款是自己一向来喜欢的黑框眼镜，一款是外甥女推荐的，有个金边。伴侣乍看问说：金色不会很土？我戴上，他诧异地说，咦，好看！外甥女得意兮兮。

也替伴侣选了两款，再让外甥女评选，在伴侣也同意之下，买了一款。我呢，要哪一款好？黑色的百搭，金色的比较office lady look。如果不打扮，戴上金色的会显得乱七八糟。如果不是跟外甥女一起来，我大概也不会主动选它！好吧！就选它，算是提醒乌贼别忘了爱美的本性。

老板替我们验眼睛，很仔细，很专业，反复找出适合我们度数和参数。“我不要调到刚刚好，等下看了会很晕。”我说。“我不喜欢戴眼镜！”指着双眼之间，戴了眼镜常常会留个印记之处又说：“喏，这里，会痛！以前戴眼镜，调整过几次还是这样。”唠唠叨叨，老板不嫌烦，承诺说：我会给你调好！

“什么时候要拿眼镜？”星期三定制眼镜，要求星期一拿，老板跟员工说，去，打电话去问，说星期六要做好！就这样，不到一周，还没到星期一，眼镜已经做好并发信息通知我们可以去领。

戴上新眼镜，我们对新造型感到满意。在商场走一圈，我有点头晕，伴侣也是。老板交代过，头一两天会这样，之后就ok了。果然后来伴侣就欢欢喜喜戴着他的新眼镜，我也一样！

Eyeglasses shops are available everywhere in Singapore. If you live in Singapore, would you travel to Malaysia to purchase a pair of glasses? If so, where would you go? Johor? Penang? Melaka?

As a Malaccan, I would definitely go to Melaka. However, being a small town, I am worried that the glasses sold in Melaka might look old-fashioned. My niece who is studying in Shanghai took me to a shopping mall that used to be the most popular one - Mahkota Parade. She said that now this mall is less popular.

When we entered the mall, it was really deserted. The glasses shop she recommended was located at the second floor. Her whole family, including herself, got their glasses from this shop. My niece is pretty and loves to pretty herself up. She lives in one of the largest cities in the world, so if the glasses look old-fashioned, she will not buy them. When we reached the shop, there were so many glasses with a range of prices, types, materials, and fashionable designs. The boss and the staff were busy entertaining their customers. We looked around and then came out, as we decided to make comparisons with the other glasses shops in the mall.

Although my partner isn't particularly interested in fashion, he suggested we return to the shop recommended by my niece. He felt that the nearby glasses shop had limited options and outdated styles. I asked him quietly if the glasses at the recommended shop were cheaper than those sold in Singapore, but he couldn't confirm. However, he was confident that they weren't more expensive. Therefore, we decided to each pick out a pair.

I was immediately drawn to two pairs of glasses: one with a black frame, which is my preferred style, and another with a golden frame that my niece recommended. When my partner first saw the golden glasses, he wondered if they would look outdated, but he was pleasantly surprised when I tried them on and exclaimed, 'Wow, they look great!' My niece was thrilled to hear that.

I selected two pairs of glasses for my partner and asked my niece for her opinion. After considering our feedback, my partner decided to buy the pair that all three of us liked. As for me, I felt that the black-framed glasses would go well with a wider range of outfits, while the golden-framed glasses had a more formal, office-appropriate look. If I were dressing casually, the golden-framed glasses might not be the best choice. In the end, I decided to purchase the glasses with the golden frame, as the shop owner also suggested. I feel that this choice will motivate me to pay more attention to my appearance and dress up more often.

The shop owner conducted a professional visual test to determine the most accurate prescription for us. I expressed my concerns about the possibility of getting a prescription that was too strong, as it could cause depth perception issues and dizziness. Additionally, I often experience discomfort and red marks between my eyebrows when wearing glasses. The owner reassured me that he would find the perfect fit for me, so I wouldn't have to worry about these issues.

When I asked the boss about when we could expect to receive our glasses, I explained that we needed them by the following Monday. The boss quickly instructed his staff to make a phone call, and we were pleased to learn that the glasses would be ready for pickup on Saturday. To our delight, we received a text message just a few days later informing us that the glasses were already prepared for pickup

After putting on our new glasses, we were both satisfied with our new looks. We decided to take a walk around the mall, but after one lap, we started feeling a bit dizzy. The boss had previously warned us that this could happen during the first day or two of wearing new glasses, but assured us that the dizziness would subside. As he predicted, we were both happy with our glasses after the initial adjustment period.

If you're looking to buy glasses in Melaka, I highly recommend this shop. The service is excellent, and the boss and his staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The glasses selection is also up-to-date and offered at a reasonable price. The boss even mentioned that he personally handpicks the frame selection from Japan and Korea on a regular basis.

The frame I selected was priced at RM288, with the lenses costing RM398. While there were more affordable lens options at RM100, they provided less protection against blue light. There were also cheaper and more expensive frame choices available, but we were able to select what we were comfortable with and what suited our personal preferences.
